Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colourless and tasteless gas that can be emitted from any fossil fuel burning appliance or heating source. Document J amendments October 2010 state under Section J2A that when a multifuel or woodburning stove is installed (Where a fixed combustion appliance is provided appropriate provision shall be made to detect and give warning of the release of Carbon Monoxide. This only applies to solid fuel but is also considered good practice with other fuels.)
